Alt 1 -Pick colors for boards.
Thinking out loud here, where would these colors show except on the boards view? Only on the board view? On all pages in the app?
Alt 2 - Thumbnail, font, color etc:
On the boards page, is there a way we could add thumbnails for the boards? Example: "Topic 1" but in our font, over our colors, etc.

May you offer both? Some smaller users may not have the time to design custom thumbnails and just selecting the colors could be enough. I think doing it similar to how you have the color picker for the tags would be ideal.
